Proper Way of Patching & Burning 360 Games

Okay, I've seen different guides on how to burn games, but some people forget to mention, that you should make sure the game is patched to be safe on Xbox Live.. This process is going to go through using ABGX360, and burning with Imgburn. This is the latest, and easiest method of doing so.

First off, these are required:
ImgBurn (Windows)
ABGX360 (Windows)
3rd Wave Video ISO
4th Wave Video ISO
DVD+R DL Discs (Verbatim are best, but some people do Memorex, cause they are usually the cheapest)

**IF YOU WANT YOUR GAMES TO LAST LONGER, I RECOMMEND USING VERBATIM. THEY ARE TOP QUALITY AND LAST A LONG TIME.**

Once you have those, install ImgBurn, and ABGX360. The 3rd Wave Video ISO & 4th Wave Video ISO needs to be extracted from the .rar and placed in the Stealth Files Folder in ABGX
(which is usually C:Program Filesabgx360StealthFiles).

Now lets move on...

Step 1: Patching 360 Game

When you download a 360 game, it is usually an .iso and .dvd file that are extracted from the .rar. Even if it only shows the .iso, if you extract it, it will usually make a .dvd file for it. Anyways, open up ABGX360, and you should be greeted with the welcome screen:

Click on the Folder icon, to browse for your .iso, and navigate to wherever you put your .iso you downloaded:

For this example, I'll be selecting the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game. Select the iso, and click open.

Step 2: Setting AutoFix

You don't always have to set the autoFix in ABGX, but if you want to make sure everything is working properly, then click on the AutoFix Tab, and click the drop-down menu and select Level 3:

This way, if it passes the stealth it will also fix the verification if it fails. So once that is selected, go ahead and click on Launch.

Step 3: Let it do it's thing

A New window similar to this one should come up:

It won't pop up all the info immediately, you gotta let it go through all the processes to make sure everything checks out. Now in my image, where all the green text is, you need to watch to see if any of those come out yellow or red.

If it's yellow, it will try and fix it, but if it doesn't, you will be fine if on the latest iXtreme Firmware (i.e. 1.51). If there is Red text though, that means something is wrong with the disc, and if it can't fix it, you need to get a different .iso copy.

So at the end if you get "verification successful", then you are set to go. If you ever come across yellow text, and it fixes it, it's good to go through the patching process again, to see if you get all green text.

Step 4: Burning with ImgBurn

With the latest version of ImgBurn, you don't need to mess with the layerbreaks or anything like that, it's just put in disc and burn basically.

So open up imgburn, and select "Write Image File to Disc"

Next, you will get the following screen, and you will want to click on the Folder Icon to open up the .dvd file that we will be burning:

Now select the .dvd file that goes with the .iso we just patched with ABGX360. If you select the .iso, ImgBurn will give a message saying you didn't select the .dvd, and that it opened it for you.

So select the .dvd, and then click open:

Now you will want to set the write speed to "2.4x". Some people have burned at 4x, and others have gone faster, but since modding first came to the 360, it was 2.4x, and I like to keep it that way. Some drives can have issues with media that is burned too fast, so that's a Coaster for you. So 2.4x, and then when ready click the "write to cd" button.

Now ImgBurn, is going to go through the process of burning the game. When it's writing, you can still use your computer, it's not going to mess anything up. Mine usually takes around 40min to finish. When it's done it will play it's "catchy" tune, and you have just completed burning a 360 .iso to DVD DL.

Step 5: Go have fun!

That's it, you can go play the game on your 360 if it's been flashed with the latest iXtreme Firmware.

**NOTE** I wrote this guide before the massive bannings came in to play a couple months ago! This is still a good way to burn games, but until the LT Firmware is released, playing these doesn't guarantee that you will be safe on Live.

JTAG HACK

Requirements:
- Some wire.
- Soldering Iron
- Xbox 360 with kernel version 7371 or lower(Some 7371 consoles may not work if they have the patched CB)
- 2 Switching Diodes. I used 1N914 - 1N4148

You will need to know your Xbox Motherboard Revision. These are the two diagrams to follow. Each one of these will need to be bridged with a piece of wire and 2 of them require a switching diode.

The |< is where the diodes go. On the diode itself there is a thick black line. That black line is this side ---> |< of the diode. That will tell you which way to place the diode when installing the JTAG connections.

Xenon Motherboard JTAG Connections

How to Dump the Xbox 360 NAND

Alright now that you have the JTAG connections out of the way its time to install the LPT cable.

Requirements for Dumping the NAND Image
You will need the following to dump your Xbox 360 NAND.
- Computer with a LPT port(Printer port)
- LPT cable with a DB25 Male end.
- 5 100-Ohm resistors. I used 100-Ohm 1/2 Watt resistors
- 1 Switching Diode. I used 1N914 - 1N4148
- Solder Iron
- Some patience
- NandPro20b to dump the NAND
- Total Commander to make sure your dumps are identical

Now dumping your NAND is crucial to this. You want to have a good clean NAND image that can be flashed back to the console if need be. So lets get started.

1. We need to set up the solder connections onto the motherboard. I used a printer cable and cut it midway and spliced it open. Then used a multimeter to figure out which cable goes to which pin. I then wrote the color/pin combination on a piece of paper. If you decide to do the same as me and not make your own cable I suggest writing down the color/pin combo so you don't have to use the multimeter again.

This is what my printer cable looks like.

As you can see I have all the resistors soldered to the ends of the cable and the one diode attached as well. All I have to do is solder it to the motherboard and I have my connection to the NAND reading and it can dump.

Soldering the cable to the board.
Now attaching the cable to the motherboard is easy as long as you know how to read the diagram which is pretty straight forward. Just follow the lines. This diagram also shows the JTAG connections. Just ignore that they are there since you already have the diagrams up top. *Diode MUST be soldered directly the the board, will not work in plug housing if you make your own cable!*
http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r167 ... on-opu.png
Pin number 18 coming from the LPT cable is shown as ground. This wire should be soldered to either the ground next to where Pin 11 solders to or the ground under where Pin 16 solders to. This will ground it and prevent the 360 from shorting and turning off.

Ok so now that you have the LPT cable soldered to the motherboard and have your cable connected to your PC. It is time to start dumping the NAND. In order to dump the NAND you will need Nandpro20b which can be downloaded on Xbins.
Directory for Nandpro20b is

/XBOX 360/development/kernel/nand tools/NandPro/

Getting files together:
1. Make a new folder and name it Nandpro20b then extract the content of the rar file into this folder.
2. Place the Nandpro20b folder in the root directory of your hard drive.
3. In the Nandpro20b folder there is a prgram called "port95nt.exe" run that to install the drivers. Then you are ready.
NandPro should work with all 32bit OS's. It is said it works fine with Vista and 7 but may need admin rights and XP Compatibility on.
Anyway lets get to reading your NAND.

Plug the power cable into the back of the 360 and into the wall so it has its power source. But do not turn on the 360 as it is not required. All you need to do is plug in the power cable and continue.

Dumping the NAND:

1. Click Start
2. Select run
3. Type CMD
4. Now in the command window you will need to type the command to read.

C:Nandpro20bnandpro.exe lpt: -r16 nand1.bin

5. Click enter and it should start. If it says testing 4 times and fails you need to check your soldering.
6. If done right it will start to read the NAND. It should read to block 3FF.
7. Repeat step 4. You want to have at least 2 dump to compare to each other and make sure they are identical.

*Note that it is possible that your NAND has bad blocks in it. Error(25x) and you keep getting this each time you dump the NAND don't worry. It is safe to continue because that is just how your NAND image is.

How to check if your NAND dumps are identical.

Download Total commander here.

http://rapidshare.com/files/319941523/tcmd750a.exe

1. Open Total Commander.
2. Click File
3. Compare by Content
4. A new window will open. Open on nand dump for file one and open the second dump for file 2.
5. Then click Compare.
6. If it says file are identical you are set to continue. If it does not say that. I suggest you go back and dump 1 or 2 more times.

If your two dumps are identical. Congratulations. You have successfully dumped your Xbox 360 NAND. Now you can continue.

Checking the CB Version
This is a very important step for 360's with the 7371 kernel. Some of these 360's have been patched already to stop the JTAG hack. This is the way to make 100% sure whether or not your 360 is still vulnerable.

/XBOX 360/development/kernel/downgrading/

Open your NAND image in Degraded1.1
Your CB version will be displayed.

Exploitable CB versions:
1888, 1902, 1903, 1920,1921: exploitable xenon
4558: exploitable Zephyr
5761, 5766, 5770: exploitable falcon
6712, 6723: exploitable jasper

Non-Exploitable CB Versions (CD = 8453 for all of them)
Xenon: 1922, 1923, 1940
Zephyr: 4571, 4572, 4578, 4579
Falcon/Opus: 5771
Jasper: 6750

NAND wont open in Degraded? Here is how to fix that.
1) Make a copy of your NAND backup
2) Open that copy in a hex editor
3) At offset 0x0012 you will see 2004 - 2007 Microsoft Corporation
4) Change that to 2004 - 2005 Microsoft Corporation
5) Now you image will open in Degraded.

How to Install Xell

Xell is used to grab your CPU Key for your console. Which is a good thing to have in case you need to open your KV. Install Xell is easy and takes little to now time.

First you will need to download it from Xbins. Again here is the directory.

/XBOX 360/development/free60/images/

Download the image for your motherboard revision. Extract and place it in the nandpro folder. Make it easy on yourself and rename the Xell file to Xell

With your LPT cable and everything still set up. You will be using nandpro again. So here we go again.

1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Type CMD
4. Type the command.

C:Nandpro20bnandpro.exe lpt: -w16 Xell.bin

Don't worry about the file size. It is meant to only write to the beginning of your NAND flash.
5. Click enter and it should starting writing.
6. Once it is done writing. Unplug the lpt cable from the PC and turn on the 360. It should boot into a blue screen. If it does then you did it right.

  Getting the CPU key.

Have a camera ready to take a picture of the Fuse Set's that pop up briefly.
Take a picture that includes fuse set 3,4,5,and 6. These contain your CPU key.

Take either 3 and 5 or 4 and 6. This will make up your cpu key. 3=4 5=6 So for example. I will take 3 and 5.
3= E42D681ED06A6D1C
5= 1FFD8E48C56A2058

So my CPU Key is - E42D681ED06A6D1C1FFD8E48C56A2058

Adding either one of the two will make your CPU key.

After getting your cpu key you can write your original nand image back to the board. Or go straight forward and install XBReboot or freeBOOT.

To flash your nand image back on, use this command

C:NandPro20bnandpro.exe lpt: -w16 (name of your nand backup)

***** freeboot and xbreboot faq *****

freeBOOT

What is freeBOOT?
Freeboot is a Xbox 360 re-booter. This will allow you to boot into the latest dashboard released by MS without the kernel on your 360 changing. Freeboot works on Xenon, Zephyr, Falcon, and Jasper consoles with 16mb flashes.

What does freeBOOT require?
Freeboot requires you to have a second NAND. This means you have to do one of the following:
- XD Card Mod
- Install a CygnosV2
- Install a CygnosV1
Freeboot also requires the JTAG hack.

What can I do with freeBOOT?
Freeboot allows you to:
- Boot into the latest Xbox 360 Dashboard without changing your 360's onboard kernel.(Play the latest and greatest games)
- Your 360 will accept any type of SATA harddrive(Use any SATA HDD)
- Removed LIVE/PIRS signature checks(Free content for this console)
- Removed XeX signature checks(Mod games)
- Use Emulators
- and more

Does XeX Loader work with freeBOOT?
Yes, XeX Loader was tested with freeBOOT and works perfect.

Can I go on Xbox Live with this?
If you were to go onto Xbox Live with this. It would not be very hard for MS to pick up on the fact that you are using a rebooter. You will most likely be banned quick.

Can I .map mod Halo 3?
Yes this combined with the XeXloader and H3Unlock will allow you to mod Halo 3. Now you don't have to buy a Dev Kit

Where can I download freeBOOT?
You can download freeboot on Xbins
the directory is

/XBOX 360/development/freeBOOT/

How do I install freeboot?
I was not able to locate a tutorial for this. But the readme does include instruction on how to install freeBOOT onto your 360.

XBReboot

What is XBReboot?
XBReboot is another rebooter just like freeBOOT. It has mainly the same features that freeBOOT has. But is able to be flashed straight onto your onboard NAND instead of on a second NAND. Only downside is XBReboot is not as stable as freeBOOT.

What does XBReboot require?
Does not require a second NAND.
Just like freeBOOT. XBReboot requires the JTAG hack.

What can I do with XBReboot?
You can do the same that you are able to do with freeBOOT. Wich includes:
- Boot into the latest Xbox 360 Dashboard without changing your 360's onboard kernel.(Play the latest and greatest games)
- Your 360 will accept any type of SATA harddrive(Use any SATA HDD)
- Removed LIVE/PIRS signature checks(Free content for this console)
- Removed XeX signature checks(Mod games)
- Use Emulators
- and more

Does XeX Loader work with XBReboot?
Yes, I personally have XBReboot installed on a JTAG'd 360 and XeX Loader works perfectly fine without hiccups.

Can I go on Xbox Live with this?
If you were to go onto Xbox Live with this. It would not be very hard for MS to pick up on the fact that you are using a rebooter. You will most likely be banned quick.

What is the difference between XBReboot and freeBOOT?
XBReboot does not require the second NAND. But is not as stable as freeBOOT is. freeBOOT had more developement time than XBReboot did.

Besides stability issues are they the same?
With stability issues aside. Both XBReboot and freeBOOT are basically the same thing. They both have their small differences but for the most part are the same.

Where can I download XBReboot?
You can download XBReboot from Xbins.
The directory is:

/XBOX 360/development/XBReboot/

Is there a tutorial on how to install XBReboot?
Yes, in the readme file that you get when you download XBReboot there are instructions.

Which Re-booter should I use?
If you do not know how to do the xD Card mod or cannot find a tutorial on it and don't want to spend money on a Cygnos V2 or V1 chip then I suggest using XBReboot since it does not require the second NAND. If you have a second NAND then I suggest using freeBOOT since it is more stable than XBReboot and will run better.

DIY 360 MU 2 USB

Ok, this guide is from instructables but I'll post it here for those of you that don't want to buy a tool to do it all.

This is an easy way to transfer saves from your 360 to your PC, in case you want to have a backup somewhere.

Thanks to SharkyTheWhite over at instructables for the Tutorial.

Anyways, for the project you will need the following:

A 360 Memory Unit (MU) duh...

A USB Connector

*optional* a 3.3V low drop voltage regulator

Now, I didn't have a 3.3v regulator, and just did it without it, and it still works fine. It was used for not overheating the unit, but I've had it plugged into my system all the time, and usually left my system on at night watching a movie. So it's completely optional whether you want to install it or not.

STEP 1: Opening the Unit

As the manufacturer of your device doesn't want you to open it, the MU is melt/glued so you cannot easily take the case apart. Carefully use a knife/blade or a little screw driver to open the device. Pay attention to the parts inside! They are very sensitive and near the borders of the circuit board.

STEP 2: Solder USB to PCB

Now you need your USB connector. Prepare it by stripping the cables inside and cutting off the cable shield. Add solder to the ends of the four wires and cut them a bit so you can precisely solder them to the PCB.

Then connect the black, green and white wire to the pins according to the picture:

The two left leads are shield and ground, the 3rd lead from the left is the +3.3V power pin which will be fed by our voltage regulator from step 3. The next two pins are D- (white) and D+ (green) from USB. The 2nd from the right is GND again (black from USB). The last pin is shield again (as you can see).

Note: Think ahead and carefully adjust the cable length to your USB port to fit the case length and inner height! The parts have nearly no space to the top (I needed to modify the case). [I personally just wrapped some electrical tape around mine to keep it shut.]

STEP 3: Add Voltage Regulator *OPTIONAL*

Now we insert the 3.3V positive voltage regulator. You can get this little thing from your local electronics shop or over the Internet (which might be waste of money as this part shouldn't cost you more than one buck).

It is highly recommended to use a SMD (surface mounted device) part, as there is rarely any space in this freaky small piece of plastic...

Warning! Your part might look exactly the same as mine but you really need to check the pinout using a datasheet you get from your part vendor! The regulator must have a GND or - pin (black in my picture as connected to GND), a Vin or +in pin that goes to the red wire of the USB pin (the 5V from the PC) and a Vout or +out pin that connects to the +3.3V pin of the PCB (blue in my picture).

Note: You do not need to connect the tab of the regulator, it won't warm up seriously and you don't have to glue the part as the case will gently press it down.

Now for those of you that don't have the regulator, and just want to get on with it, in the pic above where it shows the "blue" wire, you are going to want to solder the "red" wire to that!

STEP 4: Put it back together!

Now that you have your parts inside, you can put the case back together. You might need to apply some modifications to one or both of the case halfs as you have added the new parts.

I had to remove some area of the bottom half for the connector.

Finally tape the thing so it won't fall into parts again (I used normal transparent tape). You can also glue it but you should take into account that you will void the possibility of servicing the unit again and that you might damage the PCB with the glue.

Remember: This will void your warranty for the card, and I can't be responsible if you are banned for that (if they have a way of knowing...).

Thanks again to SharkyTheWhite for the tutorial he did on instructables!

Now you just need to get the drivers for the MU, so me being the generous guy, still had the drivers, and uploaded them! The link is at the bottom. I'll have a tutorial of how to install the drivers, after this one is up.

Hope this helps those of you that don't want to purchase a tool!

Setup DIY 360MU2USB with PC

Now throughout this tutorial, it was all setup through Windows 7, but it uses the same interface as Vista, and should work just fine for XP Users as well.

If you haven't made the 360 MU2USB yet, then go here to do that.

Make sure to also download the drivers for the device, for those will be used in this tutorial. Go here for the drivers.

Now lets move on!

STEP 1: Installing the Drivers

Okay, so if you've made your 360MU2USB you can go ahead and connect it to your PC. When it is connected Windows will notice it, and try to install the drivers for it. You can go ahead and either let it search and fail, or just stop it from searching. Go into Device Manager (Click Start Menu-->Right-Click My Computer-->For XP Users Click Hardware, then select Device Manager. For Vista click Device Manager in the top Left of the window.) Windows notices the MU as "MSFT Memory Unit USB Device". You don't need to worry about the "Xbox Security Method 3" or whatever it shows up as, since I never messed with that, and it works fine.

Now right-click on "MSFT Memory Unit USB Device", and select Update Driver Software (or for XP Users it will say Update Drivers). A new window should load up. Now for XP Users, it will open up the wizard for installing the drivers, you need to select the option to search your computer for the drivers. It's usually the option that doesn't have the "(Recommended)" next to it. When you get to the page you should have a similar window like mine:

Now click on the "Browse" button, and navigate to the folder that you extracted from the rar that had the drivers. You should of just put them on the desktop to make things easier.

Click OK, then Click "Next" to continue.

Just let it do its thing, and hopefully you should get something similar to the picture below:

Ok, now that it's installed you can close out of that, and Device Manager, as it's no longer needed.

Now your computer may prompt you that you need to format the drive. IGNORE IT, IF YOU DO SO, YOU WILL ERASE THE DATA!

STEP 2: Opening up the MU

I will be using Xtractor360 beta 6 to open the Drive, which is what I had at the time of this tutorial. (There may be a newer version)

So open up Xtractor360, and go to Drive-->Open-->Harddrive or Memorycard...

Give it a moment to load the memory card, and it should load up, and give Partitions 0 and 1

STEP 3: Do whatever the hell you need it for...

Now you can backup your data, upload your gamesaves, SPG's or whatever! I personally made it so that I didn't have to play through Just Cause all over again, but you can use it for whatever now!

That's it for the Tutorial! Hopefully this has helped you out with the 3602MU, and works well for ya!

How to Uncorrupt a Gamertag, Profile, or Gamesave from a Ban

Grabbed this from the Se7ensins, so props to Carson for the guide!

As you may know once you are banned from Xbox live if you use that banned console to play games and then put your hard drive back into an unbanned console your profile shows as corrupted and you have to recover Gamertag from Xbox Live. In doing this though you lose any achievements you may have obtained on the banned box. Here is a way to un-corrupt the profile without Recovering.

What you need:

A Data Transfer Cable for Xbox 360 or disassemble your hard drive.
CON Flag Remover
Xplorer360
Hash Block Calculator

Step 1:

First thing you want to do is get a back-up of your current profile. You can skip this step and go to Step 3 B if you already have achievements on your banned console you wish to transfer to an unbanned. This is also just a precaution and can be skipped if you don't wish to make a back up.
Either connect your hard drive to your PC through the Data Cable or disassemble the hard drive and connect using normal Sata connections.

Next open "Xplorer360". Click "Drive>Open>Harddrive or Memory-card".

Select "Partition 3", then expand "Content"

Under this will be several folders Starting with "E". These folder names are your profile ID so I can't say for sure they name of yours but if there is only one profile it will be easiest.

Expand your E folder, "FFFE07D1", then "000100000"

Now you will see you Profile file

Drag this file onto your desktop or any where you can find it.

Step 2:

Now make a back up just in case. right click on the file you just dragged from the hard drive. Click copy. right click again and click paste. you can then rename this file what ever you want just remember it is the Original. I would suggest just adding ORG or BAK to the end of the file name.

Step 3.

A: For use with a previously recovered Gamertag that is not corrupted
You can now put your Hard drive onto your banned console. I would suggest either just playing a game a or getting an easy achievement to test. Then move on to Step 4.

B: For those with a still corrupted Gamertag
If you have a Corrupted Gamertag that you have received addition Achievements you can uncorrupt that gamertag and have it add those achievements to your online Gamerscore. Just remember not to recover your tag from Live unto after you have fixed this original corrupted one. Doing so will prevent you from ever being able to add those achievements to your gamerscore.

Step 4:

Once you are ready to move your Profile back to a Unbanned Console hook the hard drive back up to the PC. Repeat steps 1 & 2. This new profile will have all the achievements you just obtained on it.

Step 5:
Open "CON Flag Remover"

Click "Open Profile". Browse for the file you just got in Xplorer360.

Click "Remove Flags".

Step 6:

Open "Xbox 360 Hash Block Calculator"

Click "File>Open"

Open the file you just removed CON Flags From

Click "Tools>Calculate Hash Blocks"

Step 7:

Open Xplorer360, open you hard drive. Navigate to where your profile is stored. Drag the file you you have edited onto the Xplorer360 window. Tell it to replace the file if asked. Disconnect hard drive from PC and reconnect to Xbox.

It may take up to 30 minutes before your new score is seen by friends or on XBOX.com.

This must be done each time hard drive is connected to a banned console. Its a bit of a pain but does make it so you can continue to get achievements on a banned console.

**** NEW XBReboot v0.05 8955_3 for all 16mb Motherboards ***

>> A new 'patch'-version of XBReboot has been released for all 16MB NAND motherboards solving the freezing/lagging issues and removing the need to patch XEX files (media check etc).
XBReboot is an image you can flash on your onboard NAND that will allow you to 'reboot' a JTAG-exploitable (~pre-mid-June MFR date, pre 8xxx kernel) 360 in a patched 8955 kernel which makes homebrew XDK (unsigned XEXs etc) possible.

From readme/nfo:

Quote

* Who wrote this?
Talented members of XBH contributed in many ways. You know who they are. TeamXBR assembled the parts, coded the utilities, and glued it all together to make it work.

* How does it work?
Both XBR and Freeboot use a "patch engine" to apply patches to the bootloaders as the console reboots. For Freeboot, this is "freeboot.bin" or "freeboot-manual.bin"; For XBR, its "xbrfw.bin" Both of these binaries are based on xell type start up code, and are launched by the exploit. The code then applies patches contained at block 0x65+, and restarts the system.

* What went wrong?
Earlier versions of XBR used the same CB/CD pair to start the 8955 kernel as the exploit. Freeboot, using a dual nand setup, used the older bootloaders to start the exploit, than used the newer bootloaders on the alternate flash to start the kernel.

The problems were not related to the patches used by XBR, but rather the use of the older bootloaders. Please try to control yourselves if problems arise, they can always be fixed. Dont do anything crazy like start conspiracy theories, buy a cygnos, wire up a dual nand or xd card, rip out a big nand to swap in a smaller one etc, etc. Have a little patience, have a little faith

* So whats the fix?
1) Add a copy of the new bootloaders to flash.
2) Create patches to use the newer relocated bootloaders on reboot.

It was easier to re-use the freeboot.bin patch engine to accomplish this task.
The freeboot patches themselves are not used. XBR continues to use its own patches, however, the freeboot.bin patch engine will be used to apply them.
This also allows custom patches to be applied, in the format used by freeboot.

XENON_8955_3:
- Uses 6750 as the alternate CB to allow easy support for all hardware versions.
- No changes made to patches, exact same functionality as 8955_2.

XENON_8955_2:
- Add a copy of the new bootloaders to flash.
- Create patches to use the new relocated bootloaders on reboot.
- Translated existing XBR patches to use the freeboot.bin patch engine.
- Fixed build file to use CB/CD 1921 for all xenon.
- Eliminate media binding path checks, run xex from all media without patching.

* XBReboot Block Layout:
Ox00 - 0x2F Xell Boot firmware
0x30 - 0x3F Backup Xell
0x40 - 0x4F freeboot.bin or freeboot-manual.bin (patch engine core)
0x50 - 0x61 Alternate CG
0x62 - 0x64 Spare blocks
0x65 - 0x65 Patch.bin, patches for bootloaders and kernel
0x66 - 0x8F Alternate CB/CD/CE
0x90 - 0x?? Flash file system

* HowTo:
1) Extract KV and Config blocks from orig.bin
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
2) Inject those blocks into XBR.bin
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
3) Flash result
nandpro lpt: -w16 XBR.bin

* Notes:
There is no need to unpack and repack pirs files!
This is a limitation of freeboot. Not XBR.
Aside from that major difference, all functionality is the same.
Individual sections can be updated or extracted seperately using nandpro.

Barnitos_Softmod_v0.5

Barnito's Wii Softmod Pack
www.hackmywii.net
If you have paid for this you were SCAMMED!

1. This package is meant to simplify and automate upgrading/downgrading/softmodding/unbricking any Nintendo Wii Console with system menu 3.0-4.2. I have taken extra care to test and compress this package making it both safe (provided you follow directions) and very small. It is possible to do most of these steps offline as well, provided you put the required WAD files on the root of your SD card. Network is the preferred and safest method. As with any softmod there is risk involved. Improper use of this package and the applications included can, (and will!!!) brick your wii if not used properly. Neither I or the coders of the included apps will not take any responsibility if you damage your wii in any way. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! [If any step makes the HBC upside down, just wait, the fix is below.. Do it in order, and hang in there!!!]

2c. Preparation Notes:
I. You must download the hackmii installer from sd://apps/Hackmii 0.6/ folder on your SD card BEFORE you begin. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT FOR ANY BOOTMII, HBC, OR DVDx INSTALLS!!
II. Anywhere the walkthrough calls for a MOD version of an application, use MOD for 4.2 system menus, and for everything else use the standard version. (see above).
III. For offline installs with the trucha bug restorer, you need the following files on the root of the SD card. I included this because some have problems with -116 errors. THIS IS ONLY NEEDED IF YOU HAVE -116 ERRORS. TBR: http://hackmywii.net/files/offline_softmod_4.2.rar. If you have a LU70 wii with fw4.1 or lower good chances are that you need the 4.2 offline pack.
IV. cIOS38rev17 offline requires http://hackmywii.net/files/Offline_cIOS38rev16.rar
V. Hermes 222 Offline installs require http://hackmywii.net/files/hermes_cios_ ... nstall.rar

3. Usage:

#. SD Installation: Extract Barnitos_Softmod_v0.5.7z to the ROOT of your SD CARD. (make sure you put the hackmii installer where required (step I. above))

a. Bannerbomb: GO ONTO STEP C IF YOU HAVE THE HBC INSTALLED. This is for users without the HBC. For simplicity sake, this pack comes with bannerbomb setup and ready to go. You will notice 2 folders named private41 and private42 on the root.
a1. For Wiis 3.0-4.1 simply rename private41 to private in windows explorer, put the SD card in the wii and click the wii button in the bottom left of the channel menu, then select data management, channels, then click the SD Card tab at the top right of your screen. The wii should prompt you to load boot.dol/elf, Click yes.
a2. For Wiis on 4.2 firmware, rename private42 to private in windows explorer, click the SD button in the bottom left of the channel menu, then insert your SD Card. The wii should prompt you to load boot.dol/elf, Click yes.

b. Hackmii: Now you should see the hackmii installer, should you get the dreaded "no vulnerable IOS Found" error, see TROUBLESHOOTING STEP A.
b1. First you want to install bootmii as boot2. Newer than mid-late 2008 Wii's have their boot1 fixed making boot2 installs impossible, so owners of those Wiis will have to settle for bootmii as an IOS. If you can do a boot2 install it is recommended you install the IOS as well.
b2. Next install the HBC, I hope everyone knows what this does.
b3. DVDx is for playing DVD Video on your Wii with with homebrew enabled players. If you think you may want this ability, then install DVDx. Otherwise you can skip this step.
b4. It is STRONGLY recommended that you use bootmii to make a NAND backup (provided it installed as a boot2) before proceeding, as it will make your wii nearly 100% brick proof in the event that something goes wrong.
b5. First power off the wii, then power it back on, this should load Bootmii. To do this part, you can use a Gamecube controller, or the Power and Reset buttons on the front panel (power cycles the options, and reset selects the highlighted option). Select the Gear icon, then the GREEN CHIP to SD icon (not red), and follow the onscreen prompts to make the backup. Bad blocks are NORMAL. Your SD card needs 512 MB or free space. (Keep in mind that in order to restore you MUST have a Gamecube controller, there is no way around this).

c. Trucha: In order to edit your NAND and continue your softmodding journey, you need a trucha enabled IOS. If your Wii has taken updates from the disk channel, a forced update, or just came with 4.2, there is a good chance that your wii will have no trucha vulnerable IOS and you will get errors trying to install any cIOSs or WADs (-2011 errors anyone?) [Keep in mind that if your wii is older and not updated you may be able to skip this step]
c1. [IF THIS DOESN'T WORK USE ALTERNATE VERSION CHAPTER 5, a1-a2] Open DOP IOS MOD v11 from the HBC. When you get to the welcome screen press A to continue. When prompted to select the IOS to use to install other IOS's press down and select "install IOS36 v3351/fakesign" then press A, when asked if you want to continue, press A, next you will be at the "Downgrading IOS15 to r257" screen, just press A on "download IOS from NUS" you will need to do this twice for the 2 versions of IOS15. it will automatically do step 1 and 2 for you, then ask you a series of questions about IOS36. Press A for YES for the following options: "ES_Identify", and "NAND permission Patch". Next you will be prompted to get IOS36 rev3351,, select "download from NUS" and press A to continue. Just keep selecting "download from NUS" untill DOP IOS MOD is done patching and restoring IOS15 and IOS36 then you can exit to the HBC.

d. 4.2 Stubs: GO TO STEP E IF ON 4.1 OR LOWER. The latest OFFICIAL 4.2 update from Nintendo corrects many security vulnerabilities, as well as stubs the cIOS slot numbers used by most homebrew. If you haven't updated your wii 4.2 yet, you can skip this step, this is only for Nintendo 4.2 updated/virgin Wiis, and is required if you have 4.2 and want to install cIOS38rev17, or Hermes cIOS installer rev4.
d1. First you need to open AnyTitle Deleter MOD, use IOS36 as the IOS to load. Anytitle will inform your wii it is god. If you get a region detection failure, just push a to continue, (as it will have no bearing on us deleting the stubs). When at the main menu select "system titles" then find and delete IOSs 222, 223, 249, and 250 by pressing a to select them and a again to confirm deletion. once all 4 stubs are deleted now you can move on to the next step. Exit to the HBC

e. cIOSs: There are 2 main cIOS installers, Wanins cIOS38rev17 (249,250) and Hermes cIOS installer rev4. [If any of these fails, and you skipped STEP C, do so now] (202,222,223). Hermes is used primarily by Mplayer CE (IOS202), and various USB and disk loaders (IOSs 222,223) as an alternative to cIOS38rev17, so it is purely optional. Wanin's cIOS is required by almost all loaders/homebrew, so we will start with that. If you get any errors [-116] try again, it is a network error.
e1. Open the cIOS38rev17 installer in the HBC, select 36 as the IOS to load, and push A to continue. Next where it defaults to "WAD install" select "network install" instead, and press a to continue it will initialize the network and install, press any button to reboot back to the HBC when it’s done. [If you get errors at this point then you skipped the trucha bug restorer step]
e2. HERMES IS OPTIONAL: This is only needed if you plan on playing DVDs (Mplayer CE) on your wii or you want to use IOS222 with your favorite USB or disk loader. Open the 222 installer from the HBC. at the first warning screen press A to continue. Select 249 as the IOS to use during install and press A. Once at the main menu, select "install custom IOS 202" and push A, then select "38 merged with 60" and press A then it will start downloading and install. When it is finished it will exit to the HBC.
e3. Open the 222 installer again use 249 as the IOS to use during install, then select "install custom IOS 222" and press A, then select "use IOS38 merged with IOS37" and push A to install. When it finishes it will exit to the HBC.
e4. Open the 222 installer again use 249 as the IOS to use during install, then select "install custom IOS 223" and press A, then select "IOS38 merged with IOS60" and push A to install. When it finishes it will exit to the HBC.

f. System Menu Updating: This step is up to the user, and completely OPTIONAL. Make sure BEFORE you update to 4.2 you have the LATEST HBC INSTALLED. Some people like their 3.3 system menu, others like 4.1 or 4.2. This package will let you install a 4.1 or a 4.2 system menu complete with all the associated IOSs required, updated system channels that go with that menu version ect. Which path you choose is entirely up to you, or you can skip this step altogether.
f1. Either select Waninkoko's 4.1 Safe Updater or Waninkoko's 4.2 Safe Updater, and select 249 as the IOS to load then push A to continue. This part takes a long time and it is important that it not be interrupted, as this can brick your wii. When this Phase is done it will prompt you to reboot your Wii. After you reboot check to make sure you are on whatever version system menu you installed before proceeding. [If this step makes the HBC upside down, just wait the fix is near the bottom.. hang in there]

g. Pimp My Wii: This handy little util will fix all the IOSs on your wii to be homebrew friendly, It opens the doors Nintendo fixed on the IOSs, fixes it so the hackmii installer won't give "no vulnerable IOS found" errors, as well as fixing your Wii so nsmb will load on a modchip, and through Neogamma.
g1. Open Pimp My Wii from the HBC, once at the main menu select "pass test and fix". it will scan then start telling you the IOSs it is fixing and why, leave all the yes/no Options alone, and just push A at each prompt. Just keep pushing A until it starts to install the IOSs. When done exit to the HBC.

h. Upside Down Homebrew Channel: The HBC is programmed by Team Twizzers to turn upside down if it is running on a IOS that has the sig hash (trucha) bug installed. This is to prevent piracy... and it is easily fixed.
h1. First open DOP IOS MOD select 249 as the IOS to load, then push A, when it says "IOS successfully loaded, push A to continue. Then at the main menu select IOSs and push A, push right till you find IOS61. Once on the IOS 61 screen press A to install latest, when asked if you are sure press A and when it asks about the sig hash check push B (trigger) for no, now DOP will install a clean IOS61. Now press home to exit to the HBC.
h2. Next find the Hackmii installer in the HBC, and open it. reinstall the HBC then exit, the now the hombrew channel should now be right side up, and running on IOS61. (You can check this by pushing HOME while in the HBC.)

i. Priiloader and HACKS.INI: Priiloader is a great tool for brick protection, region free channels and games, plus it blocks updates online and from the Disk channel.
i1. Install priiloader with the included installer, on the root there are zipped up Hacks.ini for 4.1e, 4.1u, 4.2e, and 4.2u. extract the appropriate one for your system menu to the root of the sd then boot into priiloader by powering the wii down then powering it back on. Next open the system menu hacks in priiloader, and enable the following: "disable HAXXDVDx, RZDz Checks" (4.2 only) "block disk updates" "block online updates" "remove nocopy save file protection" "d-pad up 4th GC controller recovery mode" "region free GC games" "region free channels", then save your settings and exit.

j. Neogamma Disk loader: THIS IS NOT NEEDED IF YOU ONLY WANT TO LOAD OFF USB GO TO STEP K. Neogamma loads almost all games from DVD+-R media or USB.(However I highly recommend Wiiflow or CFGloader for USB) There are new wiis that are coming out recently that have the new D3-2 DVD chipset that has had the DVD debug commands removed, and these commands are what loaders like Neogamma exploit to load off backups, the only option for these Wiis is USB, so IF NEOGAMMA FAILS TO LOAD ANY DVD MEDIA, go onto STEP K.
j1. Get the LATEST Neogamma from here: sd://apps/ folder. Open it insert a DVD-R backup and load DVD.

k. Other USB Loaders: The 2 best USB loaders are Wiiflow and CFGloader. I prefer Wiiflow so we will start with that. The main Wiiflow site doesn't update the packages, they only release new boot.dol updates on a google code page, because of this I updated the dols for you and packaged it up for ease of use.[if you would rather use cfg go to www.cfgloader.com]
k1. Get wiiflow from http://hackmywii.net/files/wiiflow1.1_r25.7z and extract it to the root of your sd. If you want a forwarder install the WAD included labled "WiiFlow StarNight Channel Forwarder-WSNF.wad". Then you must rename the folder for the version of wiiflow you intend to use (/apps/Wiiflow_249 or /apps/Wiiflow_222), in most cases you want use the 249 version of wiiflow. The wiiflow1.1_r25.7z file comes with detailed directions if you get stuck.
k2. USB HDDs and WBFS Manager: Now you just need to format your Wii's HDD properly. for that you need to go here http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faq ... b-hdd.html

l. NAND Emulation: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faq ... -card.html
l1. follow the directions on the link posted... lol

4. Troubleshooting

a. "No Vulnerable IOS Found" when trying to install the HBC, bootmii, and DVDx with the Hackmii installer from Bannerbomb. This is common on a 4.2 Virgin wiis. There is an easy way around this, but it takes some patience. These steps require a wifi internet connection.
a1. Take the SD card out and put it in the PC. Next find the BOOT.ELF on the root, and move it off the SD card to the PC, somewhere safe. Then open the sd://apps/TBRMOD folder and copy the BOOT.DOL from that folder to the root of the SD in place of the one you moved. Then insert the SD into the wii run bannerbomb by following STEP A, then when Trucha Bug restorer Mod loads, FOLLOW STEP C, when finished, delete the BOOT.DOL off the root and replace it with the BOOT.ELF you moved off then follow STEP A, then GO TO STEP B to install the HBC, then continue to STEP D, and continue down the list of steps.

b. Cannot sync wiimote error: If you have a wii where you can't sync the wiimote you most likely have a corrupt settings file on your wii NAND, we can fix this. If you have priiloader installed or bootmii as a boot2 then you can navigate to the HBC with a Gamecube controller and fix it. You need to know the system menu rev ie. v481 (4.2u) you can find this in priiloader in the bottom left of the screen. It is VERY important that you KNOW what version number you have installed as you need to know this when selecting the WAD file for your system menu to reinstall. Below is a table to help you select the correct WAD file from the included link.
The required wads can be found here: SEE THE TABLE BELOW
b1. Put the setting.txt on the root of your SD card.
b2. Use gc_wadmanager to reinstall your system menu WAD (with GC controler)
b3. Run gc_settings fix and use your GC controller and fix your setting.txt file. Hopefully you are now unbricked.

c. Opera semi brick: This happens when you inadvertently install a system menu from an out of region disk update. Now when you try to access your setting you either get system files corrupted, or the Opera error screen. Luckily this is an easy fix. If you have priiloader installed you need to know what version of the system menu you are on. for example if your priiloader says v482 and you are in the usa you can look at the table and see that you have a 4.2e installed. and that you need v481 WAD installed, to fix your Opera semi-brick.
c1. Get the correct system menu wad from below and install with a wad manager. You should now be able to access the wii options.

5. Alternate Methods

a1. TRUCHA ALTERNATE METHOD: First open the trucha Bug Restorer Mod, when asked what IOS to load select 36 (default) then push A, and don't be impatient, wait until it asks you to "press 1 to start the application" then push 1. When you get to the main menu select "downgrade IOS15" then push A, then where it says "download IOS from SD Card" push right and select "Download IOS from NUS" then push A, then it will prompt you a second time to get the IOS off the SD card, always select "download IOS from NUS". Once the 2 revisions of IOS15 are downloaded it will say "preparations complete, press A to start step 1" then press A, when it prompts you to "press A to start step 2" press A to continue. Now it will install the Downgraded IOS15. when done exit to the HBC
a2. Open the TBRM again, this time select IOS15 as the IOS to load then push A, and don't be impatient, wait until it asks you to "press 1 to start the application" then push 1. When you get to the main menu open the 36 menu. make sure you select yes to the nand permissions, ES-Identify, and the Sig Hash Check, leave it on slot 36 then select "install patched IOS36" then press A. Again you want to select "download IOS from NUS" and press a, press a through the rest of the prompts till the patched 36 is installed. Now IOS36 is trucha hacked. Exit to the HBC.

Steps:

Barnito's Wii Softmod Pack
http://www.hackmywii.org

TBR: http://hackmywii.org/files/offline_softmod_4.2.rar. If you have a LU70 wii with fw4.1 or lower good chances are that you need the 4.2 offline pack.
IV. cIOS38rev16 offline requires http://hackmywii.org/files/Offline_cIOS38rev16.rar
V. Hermes 222 Offline installs require http://hackmywii.org/files/hermes_cios_ ... nstall.rar

3. Usage:

#. SD Installation: Extract Barnitos_Softmod_v0.4.7z to the ROOT of your SD CARD.

If your Wii has taken updates from the disk channel, a forced update, or just came with 4.2, there is a good chance that your wii will have no trucha vulnerable IOS and you will get errors trying to install any cIOSs or WADs (-2011 errors anyone?) [Keep in mind that if your wii is older and not updated you may be able to skip this step]
c1. [IF THIS DOESN'T WORK USE ALTERNATE VERSION CHAPTER 5, a1-a2] Open DOP IOS MOD v10 from the HBC. When you get to the welcome screen press A to continue. When prompted to select the IOS to use to install other IOS's press down and select "install IOS that accepts fakesigning" then press A, Press B to choose no IOS reload. Choose Downgrade IOS15. When prompted, choose "download IOS from NUS" you will be prompted to do this TWICE. When IOS15 is finished installing, DOP will exit to the HBC.
c2. Open DOP IOS MOD v10 from the HBC. When you get to the welcome screen press A to continue. When prompted to select the IOS to use to install other IOS's press down and select "install IOS that accepts fakesigning" then press A. Now select IOS15 as the "IOS to load", and press a to continue. Next open the 36 Menu, and select the following options: Install IOS to slot (36), Hash check (trucha) YES, ES_Identity YES, and NAND Permissions YES. Then press A on install a patched IOS36. Everytime it prompts "load IOS from SD" select "download IOS from NUS" and press A. it will begin installing when finished press A to exit to the HBC

d. 4.2 Stubs: GO TO STEP E IF ON 4.1 OR LOWER. The latest OFFICIAL 4.2 update from Nintendo corrects many security vulnerabilities, as well as stubs the cIOS slot numbers used by most homebrew. If you haven't updated your wii 4.2 yet, you can skip this step, this is only for Nintendo 4.2 updated/virgin Wiis, and is required if you have 4.2 and want to install cIOS38rev16, or Hermes cIOS installer rev4.
Exit to the HBC

e. cIOSs: There are 2 main cIOS installers, Wanins cIOS38rev16 (249,250) and Hermes cIOS installer rev4. [If any of these fails, and you skipped STEP C, do so now] (202,222,223). Hermes is used primarily by Mplayer CE (IOS202), and various USB and disk loaders (IOSs 222,223) as an alternative to cIOS38rev16, so it is purely optional. Wanin's cIOS is required by almost all loaders/homebrew, so we will start with that. If you get any errors [-116] try again, it is a network error.
e1. Open the cIOS38rev16 installer in the HBC, select 36 as the IOS to load, and push A to continue.

The main Wiiflow site doesn't update the packages, they only release new boot.dol updates on a google code page, because of this I updated the dols for you and packaged it up for ease of use.[if you would rather use cfg go to http://www.cfgloader.com]
k1. Get wiiflow from http://hackmywii.org/files/wiiflow1.1_r25.7z and extract it to the root of your sd.

360Dashit tweaked Kiosk disk 2.1

360Dashit
tweaked Kiosk disk 2.1
(very, very similar to the "360 menu" dash that was released a while ago.)

I take NO credit for any of these, I did NOT make any of this.
I just had a kiosk disk from a source and was playing with it,
quite interesting, it reminds me of the slayer evox thing for the first xbox.

The BIG thing about this, is that I use it to launch XBLA titles from an external HDD.
I did not find any other info on launching content package from an external source.

What this thing can do:
It launches somewhat of a dashboard (old style blades) from external HDD.

From there you can,
launch XBLA
launch xbox 360 games
launch original xbox games (still checking that, requires partition 2 emu thing)
launch applications (xex or content)
launch emulators (xex or content)
install DLC
Listen to music
View movies

Lot of the content is edited with an .INI file obviously, quite simple and versatile, it seems to have
many options like adding video previews and trailers to your Arcade titles.
Once games are added to the database, they all run under the same number, so file can be used for everyone.
(just transfer XBLA to content folder and INI will already have on menu)

I know other people out there are going to find great usage for this, have fun.

Included:
The whole content ready to launch from USB0.
Original files for reference.
a few apps and emulators...

the rest is up to you and google, like me, go experiment and share.

Go hack 360

Another Jtag tutorial

all credit for this post goes to hybriduno at NZBmatrix.com. i have simply put this tutorial on here for those that do not have access to the original site.

** NOTE : There is still no XBR_hack for jasper 256 and 512 yet.

The very first thing you need to check, is your xbox kernel. At the time of writing, the most recent kernel is : 2.0.8955.0

* Turn on your xbox and go to console settings.
* Go to system info, the kernel version is on top right.

As of 5/12/09 (December 5th 2009) If you have kernel 2.0.8495.0 or HIGHER, YOU CANNOT INSTALL XBReboot.

If you have kernel 2.0.7371.0 or lower, there is one more check to do, which requires you to read the nand chip with a homemade lpt nand reader. USB Version

** There is no other 100% way of knowing your CB version without reading the nand.

Follow this thread to build a cable, Simple Db-25/cat5 Lpt Nand Dump/flash Cable Tut

Use this site to determine which motherboard type you have : Xbox 360 revisions

Once the cable is ready and double checked, grab nandpro20b from Xbins (Make sure its version 2.0b)

Follow these steps to read your nand :

* Make sure port95nt.exe is installed, if it's not, install it (from nandpro20b folder) you might need to reboot.
* Plug your 360, but don't power it on.
* Plug the lpt cable
* Go to the nandpro20b folder and type :
* nandpro lpt: -r16 orig.bin
* MAKE SURE THAT THE FLASH CONFIG SAYS : FlashConfig:01198010 , if it doesn't , refer to troubleshooting at end of guide.
* Wait patiently...
* If there are errors, refer to trouble shooting at end of guide.
* If there are no errors, read the nand again :
* nandpro lpt: -r orig2.bin
* Reading it a 3rd time is not a bad idea.

Once you have a good dump , at any point you can restore it to your 360. Follow instructions at end of guide.

How to make sure you have a good dump :

* First , compare the dumps together using a hex editor or other tool, they should match 100%
* Grab Degraded from Xbins.
* Run Degraded and click settings, enter key you found using google "Degraded 1BL key" should pop right up.
* After you set the key click Valid next to it and set the File System Start to 39. Click ok.
* Open orig.bin
* If you get, cannot read file , you must edit the orig.bin file. Make a copy of it, origcopy.bin and open it up in your hex editor. At offset 0x0012 , you will see 2004 - 2007 Microsoft Corporation...
* Change it to : 2004 - 2005 Microsoft Corporation and it will open with Degraded :

(This picture shows an unexploitable CB version)

If Degraded shows you some bad blocks, refer to the bad blocks section at the end of the guide.

Check which version of CB you have.

Exploitable CB versions:
1888, 1902, 1903, 1920,1921: exploitable xenon
4558: exploitable Zephyr
5761, 5766, 5770: exploitable falcon
6712, 6723: exploitable jasper

These CB versions are patched so the JTAG/SMC Hack is no longer working: (CD = 8453 for all of them)

Xenon: 1922, 1923, 1940

Zephyr: 4571, 4572, 4578, 4579
Falcon/Opus: 5771
Jasper: 6750

More info here :
Xbox 360 Kernel

If you have an exploitable CB , then you are in luck , if you dont, then for now , there is nothing you can do but find another xbox 360.

So you have a 7371 or ealier kernel , and an exploitable CB you can install the JTAG HACK Refer to the picture for your motherboard under the Required Soldering topic. Once you wired your 360 this way, you install XBR to your nand.
*You 360 will not boot at this point, it needs code contained in XBR to boot with the JTAG hack.

Flashing XBR to your nand :

* Grab the XBR_8955 matching your board from Xbins
* Go to your nandpro20b folder
* nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawkv.bin 1 1
* nandpro orig.bin: -r 16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
* Now that you have extracted your keyvault and config blocks from your orig.bin, inject them in the xbr_8955.bin of your motherboard version :
* Rename the xbr_8955.bin of your board to xbr.bin to simplify things.
* nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1
* nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
* Now that you've injected your keyvault and config into xbr.bin all you need to do is flash is back to your nand.
* nandpro lpt: -w16 xbr.bin
* Once done , unplug lpt cable from pc , turn on xbox and enjoy XBR.
* Problems? Refer to troubleshooting and end of guide.

Troubleshooting

I've gathered this from reading other people's posts, as i have not experienced any problems at all, except read errors above 0x200 while making first dump of my nand.

Nandpro / LPT notes : You should try to keep your cable as short as possible to avoid errors.

Nandpro FATAL ERROR :

* nandpro only works with certain USB adapters, and real LPT ports, not pci to lpt cards.
* Check wiring, check pc BIOS settings for parallel port mode SPP (Normal) but users report nandpro working fine on most lpt settings.
* Is port95nt.exe installed? Run port95nt.exe again
* Try a different pc

Nandpro Flashconfig: 01198010 / reading errors :

* Are you using the diode as explained in the cable making tutorial? The diode is a hit and miss, if you receive config 01198010 then its not needed. The diode goes with the black line towards the board , and pin 11 of lpt port connected to the other leg.
* Shorten your wires
* Are you using the 5 resistors? Some boards require you to solder directly, without using the resistors. This will fix reading errors above 0x200 that some experience.
* Check solder joints, make sure they are clean and they are not touching each other.

Nandpro Error 250:

* Error 250: This , in my experience means that the block is full of 0's, and is not an error you should be concerned about if you come across it once or twice. Of course if you keep getting Error 250, there might be an error elsewhere , or maybe you've flashed 0's all over your nand.

RRoD / Blackscreen / Error 79 :

* Do you have an exploitable CB? People seem to only look at their dash board and see it's 7371 or lower and think they can install XBR without verifying their CB to see if JTAG hack will work.
* Did you inject the rawkv.bin into xbr.bin ? (nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1)
* Did you inject the rawconfig.bin into xbr.bin ? (nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2)
* Did you have Bad Blocks in your orig.bin ? Did you follow the Bad Block Installation notes?

Restoring your original nand.

* Make sure port95nt.exe is installed, if it's not, install it (from nandpro20b folder) you might need to reboot.
* Plug your 360, but don't power it on.
* Plug the lpt cable
* Go to the nandpro20b folder and type :
* nandpro lpt: -w16 orig.bin
* Your nand is back to its original state.
* Remove the JTAG HACK or the 360 won't boot.

Bad Blocks in the nand

If Degraded shows you some bad blocks, you will have to move the blocks from your xbr.bin to where they are remapped.
You can try this tool , although it wasn't tested much : Bad Block Remapper

If you want to do it manually, you have to do this:

* Take the picture above as example.
* It says: Note : Block 0x2CE found at 0x3F8
* This is where the bad block 0x2CE was remapped.
* nandpro xbr.bin: -r16 block2ce.bin 2ce 1 (Reads block 0x02CE and saves as block2ce.bin)
* nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 block2ce.bin 3f8 1 (Write block2ce.bin to 0x3f8 where block is remapped)
* You will have to do this for each block.
* Here is the "formula":
* nandpro xbr.bin -r16 blockXXX.bin XXX 1 (Where XXX is the bad block number)
* nandpro xbr.bin -w16 blockXXX.bin YYY 1 (Where YYY is the address where block is found in degraded)
Tips on finding a xbox with an exploitable CB version

* According to this post most boards manufactured after june 2009 should come with an unexploitable CB version so seek something earlier.
* Obviously, must be be pre summer 09' update (kernel 7371 and lower)
* Find your serial number inside your xbox by going to console settings , system info. This is the real serial number, if you bought the 360 second hand , nothing guarantees the information on the back being accurate.
There is one trick to find the manufactured date with the serial number, this site shows how. The last 5 digits of your serial number determines the date YWWFF 74902 would be 2007 week 49 (december) factory code : Mexico
* Even if it was manufactured before june 2009, if its a second hand console , maybe it was sent to microsoft at some point and it could have been update then.

Playing content from a hdd that wasn't signed to this console

# Unscrew your hard drive case until you have just the hard drive and plug it in a SATA port of your pc.
# Grab xplorer360 from xbins and execute it.
# Open Hard drive
# Go to partition 3
# Your games are in Content0000000000000

How to use Team Fusions Title Update Database

Due to numerous people asking members of our team and myself on how to apply the Title Updates for select games, I figured it would be best to just make up this short tutorial. For this process I will be using the following items:

1.	Obviously a computer with internet access
2.	The EliteModScene game Title Database which is located at
a.	http://www.elitemodscene.com/gamedb/
3.	Xplorer360 hacked version for 250 gig hard drive (only use this if you have the 250 gig vesion)
a.	Link for this version can be found at
i.	http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QCFV28V2
b.	If you have any other version of the xbox 360 hard drives, use this link then
i.	http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TG6D74EZ
4.	Also, I will be using the Microsoft hard drive transfer cable. These can be found on ebay for around 5 dollars shipped usually. If you do not have one of these, and do not want to wait, then you can disassemble your hard drive case, and hook it up to your PC as a normal sata drive.

That should be about all you need in order to obtain and use the Title Updates we offer.

Now onto the tutorial itself; if you follow these directions, you will have no issue at all.

1.	Once you arrive at http://www.elitemodscene.com/gamedb/ you will be greeted with the following page:

2.	You can then type in the name of the game you are looking for. For this tutorial I will be using Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Once you type it in, you will get the following screen.

3.	Now, select the game you want, ‘Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’
4.	You will now get a new screen that looks like this

5.	Now you will click on the download button for whichever Title Update you are interested in.
a.	When there are multiple ones, such as the case with this game, you should download them all. This is because certain games build upon each Title Update, and others do not. So to be on the safe side, just download them all.
b.	Also, if you are interested in reading the review, you can do so by clicking on the ‘read review’ button.
6.	Once you have downloaded the Title Update(s) you want, open up your version of xplorer360.
7.	When it has been opened you will be greeted with the following screen.

8.	Now go to Drive, open, Hard Drive Memcard. Once you have done this, it will open up your xbox 360 hard drive. Your screen should now look like

9.	Navigate to partition 3, and then to the ‘cache’ folder.
10.	Your screen should look similar to this. It won’t be the same as my games played and cache folder will be different from yours.

11.	Now just drag and drop your downloaded Title Update into the ‘cache’ folder.
12.	Then either reassemble your hard drive, or put it back on the console, and you are good to go.

Some people have been asking what a.ciso file is in relation to the Wii.
It stands for a Compressed iso. So it is only the game.
Picture it like this. When you have a complete normal wii game iso, and wbfs manager adds only the actual game files to a hard drive, it's the compresses iso that is on the hard drive.

To install this on a hard drive, you need a manager like wbfs intelligent.
This tool allows you to patch your games with a different wave version, which can be useful for people with older firmwares that doesn't have support for the newer waves.
This is of course NOT LIVE safe at all - but you shouldn't be connecting a FW-modded 360 on LIVE anyway.

***** Arcade Demo to Full Conversion for Homebrew 360s *****

Introduction
This tutorial will explain how you can find the difference between a Live Arcade Demo and full Xbox Live Arcade game and will teach you how to convert demos to full version games you have purchased.

Let's Get Started
1. Find a copy of Yaris (this game was chosen as it runs everywhere as full).
2. Open the pirs file in your favorite hex editor (filename was FB9310B8893A3FD01C443A29AC246493393E399558 )
3. Copy everything from 0x22C to 0x25F inclusive.
4. Shown as selected on this image (guess you don't need to find Yaris if you want to just copy the values highlighted).
5. Open your destination (in my case Castle Crashers filename: F9432A7FE407A3C196C95D0FFD4A540937FD4EEC58)
select 0x22C, and paste (overwrite, not insert). File size should NOT change.

Please Note
This is probably illegal if you didn't actually buy the actual Xbox Live Arcade game. But as running a "homebrew enabled" Xbox 360 is not (and probably will never be) safe to connect to LIVE this is way to make your Arcade games you bought play in full version on your homebrew Xbox 360.

How To: Add Wi-Fi To Your Xbox 360 Smartly and Cheaply

The Xbox 360 is the best console you can buy. Except it's inexplicably missing something the Wii and PS3 have: Wi-Fi. You could buy Microsoft's $90 dongle. Or you could follow this guide.

The Xbox 360's lack of Wi-Fi is a totally killer hardware flaw—if you're not right on top of your router, you've either gotta string miles of ethernet cable or buy that pricey ass dongle from Microsoft. Unless you check out one of the cheaper alternatives. Here's every major way to get your Xbox going on Wi-Fi, sorted by easiest to hardest (but most satisfying).

Donglage
Dongles are, by far, the easiest way to get your Xbox 360 on a wireless network. But they also tend to be the priciest.

# Microsoft's official wireless adapter is $87, which is absolute horseshit for a Wi-Fi antenna attached to a USB cable. But it looks the nicest and is super easy to use—just plug and play. Update: This weekend you can get one for $69.

# The next stop is a third-party wireless adapter, where you've got your pick from Linksys ($65), Belkin ($70) and hey, Linksys ($90, but it's 802.11n). Same deal, plug and play.

# Finally, your cheapest option is from...Microsoft. Turns out, a regular Xbox wireless adapter (which is a supercheap $50), works just fine, with a tiny bit of finagling: Don't put in its actual install CD. Just plug it in, and set your encryption. It might take two tries to get it to work, but it will. And, it won't eat up a USB port like the official Xbox 360 one. Spoiler alert: This is our pick for best option, based on its combo of cheapness and convenience, if you can find one.

Share Your Computer's Connection
Sharing your computer's connection is the cheapest option—it's actually the freest one. It'll work with a laptop or desktop, though a laptop is more truly wireless—the desktop bit is an option if your router's just a step too far out of the way. Basically, you're plugging your Xbox into the computer's ethernet port, and then having it use your computer's wireless connection to connect to the internet.

Windows
It's actually harder to reliably share the internet love on Windows with its cousin, the Xbox 360, than it is on a Mac: No method worked reliably for us across multiple Windows computers. But here's how it should work:

1. Share your computer's wireless connection. Microsoft actually details the process here, and it's pretty easy. From the Network and Sharing center, click on the manage network connections option on the left. From there, right click on the connect you wanna share (probably wireless, unless you're daisy-chaining 'cause your box just won't reach) and hit properties. Under the sharing tab, just check the box to allow that connection to be shared. Plug your Xbox into the ethernet port.

2. There are a few other ways to proceed at this point, and you're probably going to have try at least a couple of them to find one that'll work. You could bridge the two connections (dicey), or you could manually assign the ethernet port an IP address, detailed here (PDF). This Instructable relies on automagicalness to resolve the settings, and I have had that work in the past, though not when I was sorting through methods for this how to.

All in all, expect to do some Googling and troubleshooting if you go the Windows route.

Mac
You'd think this would be easy, 'cause I heard somewhere that Macs just work, and internet sharing on Macs typically ain't hard, but there is a tiny bit of jujitsu involved here. This method, from Joystiq, is the most reliable one I used.

1. On your Mac, pop open Terminal, and type "ifconfig en0" (number zero, no quotes). A whole bunch of crap will pop up. Find where it says "inet 192.xxx.x.xxx" (it should be 192, anyway). Write that junk down. It will probably be 192.168.2.1, like mine. Also find out your router's IP address, which is most likely 192.168.1.1 (Linksys) or 192.168.0.1 (D-Link uses this), depending on your manufacturer. If you have Apple's Airport gear, the router will be at 10.0.1.1.

2. Then plug your Xbox 360 into your Mac, open up Sharing in Preferences. Turn on internet sharing, and share your Airport's internet connection with ethernet.

3. On the Xbox, flip to your network settings (under system settings), and enter the IP address you got from the terminal freaky deaky earlier but + 1, like 192.168.2.2 to my original 192.168.2.1. Subnet should be 255.255.255.0, and then set your gateway as the ifconfig number, 192.168.2.1. Under DNS (back one screen, then down), put in your router's actual address for both. Test your Xbox Live connection. Your NAT might suck, but you can get on Xbox Live.

Hack Your Router
This method is the least straightforward, and requires a little bit of work on your part. Essentially, you're buying a second router (a cheap one, for about $40) and installing custom software on it that turns it into a giant wireless antenna that's hooked up to your Xbox 360.

There are tons of Linux custom firmwares for routers nowadays, with DD-WRT and Tomato being the most popular. Tomato is a bit more user friendly, but it works with far fewer routers than DD-WRT. DD-WRT works with dozens of different routers (click for the list).

Whichever firmware you go with, the method for putting on your router will vary from device to device, with Buffalo routers being a notorious pain in the ass. Tomato includes instructions with the firmware download—but here are some of the details, and Lifehacker's complete guide to installing and using Tomato.

DD-WRT is my preferred firmware. Here are the detailed install instructions, but with most Linksys routers, you can just drill into the router settings from the web address (192.168.1.1) and upload the DD-WRT firmware, directly, making it pretty easy. But some routers require different, exceptionally specific install methods. So check out the list before you run out to Best Buy or Circuit City.

My preferred router for this because of its tininess and cheapness (under $40), was the Buffalo G-125, which required you to flash it over TFTP backdoor the DD-WRT firmware onto it during a brief window of time, like Luke dropping those bombs into the Death Star's vent shaft. It's a pain in the ass, but everything else about the Buffalo routers make it worth it. Unfortunately, you can't buy it in the States until the next month or so, so your cheapest bet is is Linksys's $40ish WRT54G, which unfortunately, has different install methods depending on the revision. The DD-WRT wiki is very good, so you shouldn't run into problems following it.

Once you get either firmware installed, you're going to set your hacked router up as a wireless client.

1. You're going to need to go into the hacked router's settings. Set the hacked router to client mode.

2. These numbers are going to vary slightly based on your router, but you need to assign it an IP address—if your main router's IP address is 192.168.0.1, set your hacked router at 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.0.101 (a number that's in your main router's DHCP server range). Then make the gateway and DNS the same IP address as your main router.

3. When it reboots you're gonna have to re-login to whatever IP address your hacked router is. Do that, go back in, and give the hacked router the same SSID (name) as your main router (Linksys, gizrox, whatever you have it named). You can also configure wireless security at this point, though for me, it's always been kind of flaky, WEP in particular, so you might have to play around to see what works.

4. To test, try to get online using the hacked router as your internet connection, with all of your computer's IP settings left on automatic. If it works, plug the hacked router into your Xbox. If not, check out the DD-WRT wiki for more halpz.

4. On your Xbox, you can leave everything set to automatic—the hacked router does all the work.

The hacked router method might take the longest, but at least you won't have a useless dongle when the Xbox 720 comes out, you'll have a full-featured router, and it's cheaper than the official dongle. Plus you'll have a feeling of accomplishment that will carry over to gaming, so you should kill a lot more people in Call of Duty.

Xbox Live - Router & Port Forwarding - Guide

Routers & Port Forwarding
Have you ever noticed that sometimes you can't join certain games on Xbox LIVE??? Have you noticed that in some games there are people that you can't hear or talk to?? If this is the case you probably don't have a fully 100% xbox live compatible router or you don't have your ports setup for optimal online gaming. Here are some notes and instructions to hopefully assist you people in at least working towards fixing up your setup and which may alleviate these issues.

Network and Router Intro
First things first - I'm assuming your setup looks something like this:

Xbox -> Broadband Router -> (possibly a modem) -> Internet

Your broadband router may have a built-in ADSL modem or you may be using a separate external modem (ADSL or Cable). You may also have one or more network hubs and/or switches - these shouldn't affect things for this discussion.

If you are using a broadband router (with multiple wired and/or wireless ports) which does NAT for connection sharing (NB: This is typically the case with most if not all of these devices) and you have an external (separate) modem then I'm expecting that you are running your modem in Bridging (passthrough) mode and not Routing (NAT) mode - if this is not that case then you "may" want to try connecting your xbox directly to the modem instead.

Now this guide is going to be using some potentially confusing acronyms and terms (like NAT, UDP, TCP, Port, UPnP, IP, DMZ, etc) - in most cases you don't actually need to know what these mean or what they really represent - most of the time you just need to find and select an option with that name in the routers administrative interface. Which brings us to another point - most (if not all) home broadband routers have some form of administrative interface (where you can set things up and change settings) - it is usually accessed via a web based (via a web browser) interface. To make changes to the router configuration you will need to know:

- the web address for this admin interface (usually something like http://192.168.100.1/ or something like that - more on this elsewhere)
- the administrative account name (usually "admin" or something like that)
- the password

Use one of the Three Options below to configure your broadband router to make it more Xbox Live compatible.
All of the Options below require you to log into the routers administrative interface (using a web browser) and make changes to its configuration. Options 2 and 3 also require you to know the IP Address of your Xbox (instructions for doing this are given after the three options). The second option also requires you to work out how to setup port forwarding rules in the router. The following web site details instructions (with pictures) (for a huge number of Routers) on how to both log into the web interface (giving the usual default address and username) and how to configure a port forwarding rule for each router. In most cases the example given is to setup a port forward to the PCs IP Address - you want to set it up to forward to the Xboxes IP Address instead. If your exact router is not listed then perhaps try choosing a similar one and use the example. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Three Basic Options for Setting up your Router
Option 1: UPnP - the first thing to check is to see if your broadband router supports a feature called UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) and turn it on. You may also be able to install a newer firmware in your router (which you can usually obtain from your router manufacturers web site) which has the UPnP feature. However UPnP just may not be available for your router in which case try Option 2.

Option 2: Port Forwarding - the second option you can try is to see if your router supports the setup of "port forwarding" rules and if so setup (three) port forwarding rules for the following three ports to the IP address of your Xbox:
UDP 88
UDP 3074
and
TCP 3074
(see http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm for more info on how to do this)

Option 3: DMZ Host - the last option you can try is to see if your router supports specifying a DMZ (Exposed) Host and if so configure it so that the IP address of your Xbox is setup as the DMZ Host.

Your Xboxes IP Address
To setup any port forwarding or DMZ rules you need to determine the IP Address of the device you are going to forward these ports to (your xbox).

Most people with a router will have it setup such that it is a DHCP server and all the devices you connect to your LAN will be DHCP clients - which will be automatically assigned an IP address (and other information) by the DHCP Server in your router.

Most routers have a nice status web page which show you the currently connected devices (DHCP Clients Table, Attached Devices, LAN Status, etc) and their MAC addresses and IP Addresses - however how do you determine which one of these devices is the Xbox?

The easiest way is to have only two devices active on your LAN (the PC you are using to administer the router with and the xbox). Have them both connected and turned on and then go to the routers connected devices web page and hopefully you should have only two devices listed in the table. One of them will be your PC and the other will be the Xbox. By a process of elimination if you determine your PC (Computers) IP Address the other one will be the Xbox.

An alternative is to manually assign an IP Address (and Gateway and DNS server address) to your Xbox (using the Xbox Dashboard network settings) - you must assign an address from the same pool as the routers DHCP Server assigns (basically one which has the same first three numbers in the IP address as your PC (and the web admin interface address) has - e.g. 192.168.???. NB: Don't choose an address which is already in use on your home network.

Your Computer's IP Address

- Click the Start button.
- Click Run button (XP ONLY)
- In the text area type cmd. (A black screen should pop up on the screen.)
- In the black screen type IPConfig. (Your computer's IP address should be listed next to IP Address. If you have more than one NIC card select the IP address that starts with 192.168.)

ZuneHD hack(theyshould add a section under M$ for this)

Lets hack.

I have a zuneHD just bought for $400(w/ accidental warranty...it will break in two years so dont tell me the warranty is a waste of money)
I am ready to hack it. Exept there is one...well one if many problems....no hack out yet

I am looking to "make" the first hack.

I am having trouble even getting a hole of the firmware. Once i get that i dont even know how i would read/modify it.
Im sure once i got the firmware and found out how to open it to read it i can figure out whats in it because i know alot about html and a little about other programing languages...theres all basicly the same.

If the firmware hack is not an option then i think the M$ c# program would come into use. with that you can create custom apps and install them to zune. (having trouble with the c# language with the zune...i can succefully install the apps just having trouble writing them)
The hack might have to be like that of the PSP w/o a pandora battery where you use chickhen in the photos and the psp like freaks out and boots in new firmware and then you flash it to the PSP.

If anyone has any good c# (for zune) learning guides, any GOOD custom made apps, or any break throughs on a possible hack please post here.

I hope the mods will make a zune area under M$ or wear the ipod and other PMP's are.(and put this in there when made)

MAG Beta open again!

So MAG, which is that new FPS that's supposed to support 256 players online, stopped their private Beta last month. Well it looks like they have the open beta now running, so those of you that have a PS3, may want to go try the beta of it! This beta just runs until Jan. 10th, so better hurry if you wanna try it!

Here’s a three-step refresher course on what you’ll need to do to get the Beta:

1. Log on to the PlayStation Store, Select “View All By Title -> M Titles -> MAG” and download the MAG Beta file like you would any other freely-available PSN video or demo (298 MB)
2. Launch the MAG Beta program from your XMB to download a special patch that will restart MAG once the update has been received (another 37 MB)
3. After the reboot, the Beta will reconnect and download the actual game data so that you can play (1.8 GB – 2.3 GB depending on your region)

I personally was in the closed beta, but didn't play it a whole lot, but hopefully they live up to what they say about the game!

Running Games From A Hard Drive, tutorial

originaly posted on http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=701144.

i do not take credit for this just reposting a good tut.

I have recently put an external 2TB drive on my xbox 360 and wanted to share with everyone else in case anyone had questions on how to do this. Using xexloader .29 does take some time to scroll down through the list of games, so if you have a bunch of games, it will take a while to scroll through them. Hopefully in a later release, they will fix this and it will scroll through much faster. It takes too long to load up the images for the games.

NOTE ON HFS: you will not be able to use the CopyDVD function in the xexloader if you go with the HFS+ format. I am unsure if this is a limitation of the format or xexloader and if its a software limitation, hopefully it will support it in a later release. For now, simply hook up the USB drive to your PC and copy over the games.

Using an external USB drive
1. You must first format the drive with either fat32 or HFS (mac format). From my reading, it is recommented to use HFS+ and can be accomplished using a program such as TransMac to format the drive and write data to it.
2. Put your backup in your pc, and run xbox image browser or extract to an iso and then run xbox image browser
3. Extract the files to a folder
4. If you are using XBR xxx_8955_1.bin then you must patch the files with X360GameHack
5. Copy your game folder to the hard driving using a program such as TransMac to copy the data to the HFS drive.
6. Plug in the USB drive and run your favorite xexloader

Using an official hard drive
If you are using XBR xxx_8955_3.bin or greater:

1. Run xexloader of choice and use the copydvd function to copy it to "HDD:GamesGame Name"
2. Run game using xexloader

If you are using XBR xxx_8955_1.bin (through xexloader):

1. Run xexloader of choice and use the copydvd function to copy it to "HDD:GamesGame Name"
2. Copy "HDD:GamesGame Name" to your PC using Xplorer360, Xport 360 or similar program
3. patch the files necessary with X360GameHack
4. copy files back to "HDD:GamesGame Name" using Xplorer360, Xport 360 or similar program
5. run your xexloader of choice

If you are using XBR xxx_8955_1.bin (through computer):

1. Put your backup in your pc, and run xbox image browser or extract to an iso and then run xbox image browser
2. extract the files to a folder
3. patch the files necessary with X360GameHack
4. copy folder to HDD:GamesGame Name using Xplorer360, Xport 360 or similar program
5. run your xexloader of choice

What's up wabash & jpizzle? (yeah I know what the thread title sound like )

The site is pretty good. Looks like I'll be spending a lot more time over here than over there (you know where).

Anyway, as you to may already be aware, I posted (over there) that I was having problems Jtagging. Getting a LOT of errors.

I don't know for sure, and I'll check as I do my next two Jtags, but maybe the power supply has something to do with it. I changed to the power supply that came with the console instead of the one that's in my "mod room", and it seems to be dumping much better. Slower, but better. Maybe for this procedure, you need the motherboard's appropriate PSU. (Just a note).

how to make Forza 3 work after creatinga custom hard drive

all credit for this method goes to ErOR.

This for people having problems with their Forza 3 saves after creating a custom HDD. I just finished with my own custom 250GB HDD and it works perfect =D. Now only problem I had was that forza 3 wouldn't load the save (like other people have also mentioned). If your cheap like me or just plain don't to spend that precious $$ for a overpriced memory unit then this little tutorial might be for you. I DON'T KNOW if this will BAN the xbox yet as I've only done it. (If it does it will give me a excuse to mod it hehe).

Programs Needed
Xplorer 250GB Version click me
Concept Resigner click me
Hash Block Calculator click me

1. Create your custom hard drive and copy everything from your old partition 3 to the new one.
2. After this is done go into the new HDD with Xplorer and navigate to Partition 3 -> Content -> EBFCD05D81D3715F -> 4D53084D -> 00000001 (this is the folder where forza 3 files are stored and you should know if your in the right folder because you will see a file called ForzaProfile and some other files too like replay, photo ect)
3.Copy all the files inside to a folder somewhere on your computer (to make it easy create a folder on your desktop called forza and place them inside) then delete all the files from the HDD.
4. Place the HDD into the xbox and boot up forza and create a new save game and after this is done shut the xbox down and place the HDD back into the computer.
5. Go into windows open Xplorer and navigate to the same directory as before. There should only be one file in there (ForzaProfile) and copy that to the desktop or another folder but not the same folder where other forza files were copied.
6. Open up Concept Resigner, click open and select the ForzaProfile file that is on the desktop (the one that was just copied over from the HDD) Open up notepad and copy Profile ID and Device ID to it (these are the numbers that are the key to getting this working)
7.Now open any file file from the Forza folder and paste Profile ID and Device ID to the program and click Resign (you must do this to all the files inside to get this working NOTE: the file 'movies' will not open for some reason so just skip it)
8. After all the files have this new Profile ID and Device ID open up Hash Block Calculator and open each files one by one and make sure that under Proper? everything is set to True. If there is a file with False under Proper? then go to tools and select Calculate Hash Blocks.
9. After this is all done copy all the files now back to the HDD in the same directory it came from and place it in the xbox and enjoy your Forza 3 save =D

You might get prompted for a update. This will probably work for any game but don't hold me responsible for your mistakes or if you get banned. I don't know if this will ban you. I hope this works for other people as it did for me.

QuickBoot v1.1

>> FreeXeX released a new version of QuickBoot.
What's new/fixed:
* Added Support for making Games on Demand containers
* Added Support for all 3 USB slots. When you specify "usb:" as the path it will now scan up to 3 usb drives looking for the file.
* Added Debug logging, this will create a debug.log on the root of ubs0 if an error is encountered
* Reduced file size of generated container from 804KB to 284KB

About QuickBoot:

Quote

QuickBoot allows you to build "short cut" LIVE containers that will allow you to launch applications directly from NXE.

The three main advantages of this are:
* Saves time by loading the application directly, rather than having to use XexLoader to browse the file tree and find the executable.
* Bypasses the 4GB size limit on live containers as you're not actually storing the application data in the live container, merely making a shortcut to it.
* Allows you to load applications off of external hard drives etc. straight from NXE.
